Contested Outcomes

I have never, to the best of my recall, entered a writing contest. I’m afraid I’m at the point in my life where a lot of my memories are just memories of memories, so it’s possible that I’m mistaken? Almost entirely certain I’ve never paid money to enter one until this. Still, paid I did, and managed to make it past the first round, but this one apparently just wasn’t good enough to meet the lofty standards to advance to the finals. Judges’ feedback was pretty positive, at least.

But I guess making it to the second of three rounds out of 3,400+ people is nothing to sneeze at when I’m not a flash fiction writer. Not sure I would really want to pay to enter a contest again, though…
